Skagerak International School founded in 1991, is a vibrant school located in the picturesque coastal town of Sandefjord, only 90 minutes from Oslo.The school is an IB World School offering the IB curriculum from Kindergarten all the way through to High School. The student population amounts to about 380 students from a diverse range of nationalities, cultures and backgrounds. Our well-qualified and experienced staff are also equally international and dynamic. Together we are Skagerak International School.

The High School (grades 10-12) has about 150  students and offers both a PreDP and Norwegian National Programme (Vg1) in grade 10 and the IB Diploma Programme (grades11-12). We are an accredited member of CIS and ECIS.


PYP coordinator

This is is a permanent part time 40% position with stipend. Detailed job descriptionand salary information available upon request.

The applicant will be expected to ensure effective management of the school’s primary years programme (PYP) and to coordinate the curriculum in the Kindergarten and Primary School. The appointee is a member of the Primary School’s administration team and works closely with the PS Principal and the MYP and DP coordinators. The position is established in accordance with IB requirements.

Start date: 1 August 2015

General requirements:

  • Recognized primary teacher training/certification
  • Relevant university degree
  • Administrative/school leadership training and/or experience
  • High level of English/communication competence
  • Experience in an IB World School
  • Management skills and personal qualities associated with school leadership
  • Personal attributes as indicated by the IB learner profile

Preferred candidates will also have

  • Experience as a PYP Coordinator
  • Experience teaching in international schools and/or training and experience related to PYP teaching within the International Baccalaureate system
  • Interest and motivation to work in a high-performing, internationally-minded organization

MYP/Pre DP/DP Mathematics teacher

Position Type

  • Full-time Permanent - 100%
  • Primarily focussing on year-groups 7-11, but other suitable teaching within the MYP, Pre-DP or DP programmes may be assigned.

 Commencement Date

  • 1st of August 2015

 Essential requirements

  • Relevant University Degree or equivalent specialist tertiary training in mathematics consisting of at least 60 ECTS.
  • Recognized teacher training/certification consisting of at least 60 ECTS.
  • Demonstrable fluency in both written and spoken English.
  • Personal attributes as indicated by the IB learner profile.

 Preferred candidates will also have

  • Experience teaching at international schools and/or training and experience related to teaching within the International Baccalaureate community.
  • Interest and motivation to work in a high-performing, internationally-minded organization.

  • Arising due to the expansion of our Visual Arts offering.

Commencement Date

  • 1st of August 2015
