After School Clubs 2017-18

Once again we are offering our students a variety of our after school activities - join us now!


Homework Club for our PY2 to MY4 students meets on Tuesdays 14:45-16:25 in the PY3 classroom. Kristina Unhjem, kristina.unhjem@skagerak.org, will be leading the homework club this year.


Language Clubs

Spanish Club for native/proficient speakers will meet on Wednesdays at 15:15 in the PS Digital Lounge with Cristina Comino, cristina.comino@skagerak.org. Portuguese Club will meet on Mondays at 15:15 in PY5 with Sónia Felix, jacintadafelix@gmail.com. French Club will meet on Tuesdays, 14:45-16:00 in PY5 with Emilie Bevand, emilie.et.sebastian@gmail.com.



Yoga Club will be held on Thursdays, 16:15-17:15, in the HS Library for Middle and High school students. Contact person is Yvonne Folan, yvonne.folan@skagerak.org.



Our popular Chess Club is back and will be run by MY2 student, Sebastian Carl, sebastian.carl@student.skagerak.org. It will be held on Fridays 15:10 to 16:00 in the PY4-6 student lounge.



French Cooking Classes will again be offered by professional chef, Sophia Zidi, sophia@sodelices.com, on Wednesdays 16:30-18:30 and Saturdays 10:00-14:00 in the HS Canteen.


Math Club will meet on Mondays, 15:00-16:00 in the PS Digital Lounge with Mr Tester, james.tester@skagerak.org.



The new Robotics Club, hosted by Mr. Baragwanath, francis.baragwanath@skagerak.org, will be held on Thursdays, 15:15-16:15, in the Computer Lab.

Skagerak Day, 24 September 12-3 pm

Welcome to the start of the school year and a host of activities on Skagerak Day, Sunday 24 September. The Parent Council is once again organizing this fun filled event for all students and parents on the school playground. There will be a football tournament, talent show, face painting, grilled hamburgers and more! We look forward to seeing as many as possible - sunshine is promised!

Dyslexia Café, October 10th

Ms. Nielsen will be hosting a Dyslexia Café in the high school cafeteria on Tuesday, October 10th from 14:45 to 16:00, together with Mr. Tester. All students and parents from across all schools are welcome to attend to discuss and share ideas and strategies for supporting dyslexia and dyscalculia. Skagerak International School's online learning platform ManageBac has now been updated to include all new parents at the Kindergarten, Primary and Middle school, as well as new Middle school students. We hope to see many parents at our annual Curriculum night/Welcome BBQ on Thursday 31 August, 4 pm-6 pm. Start Time Tomorrow, August 24th

It is important to make sure your child is on time for school tomorrow, Thursday, August 24th. PY1 through PY6 will be walking to Framnes School at 8:45am for a 9:00am Cultural Backpack performance. Your child will be walking with their class right when school starts.

The Vocal Ensemble Club aims at developing individual singing skills, singing within a group, the basic musical skills of pitch, rhythm and expression through musical vocal techniques for the young singer. Rehearsals will be held on Thursdays from 15:30 - 16:30

Dear Skagerak Kindergarten and Primary families

Welcome back! I hope you have had a relaxing and enjoyable summer with friends and family.

Kindergarten and primary school begins Monday, 14th of August, at 8:45 am. You are welcome to arrive at 8:30 am and meet the kindergarten and primary staff. We will all gather outside in front of the school. The first day of school is a full day and students will arrive at 8:45 and be dismissed at 3 pm. There is afternoon SFO until 4:30 on Monday with Ms Carol for those who need it. Please notify your child's homeroom teacher if they are attending SFO on the first day. Morning SFO for Kindergarten and Primary will begin on Tuesday morning at 7:30am. If you have any questions about the start-up times and schedule, please do not hesitate to ask.

For the first day, your child should bring a snack, lunch, a water bottle, pencils, erasers, indoor shoes, and weather appropriate clothing. If your child is attending afternoon SFO, they will need an additional snack for the late afternoon. Contact teachers will be sending additional information and necessary school start-up forms home with students on the first day of school, including medical information and permission forms.
