Wednesday is Norway's constitutional day, 17. mai, and we at Skagerak celebrate this annual event with the community. Here is some useful information about this day below:
- the Parent Council is arranging a breakfast beginning at 7:45 am in the high school cafeteria. Waffle and coffee sales will be held to support the Parent Council
- around 8:15am, Primary and Middle school students will hold a flag ceremony
- just before 9am, PY1-DP2 we will march along Framnesveien and first meet Framnes skole and the Framnes Jr. music corp at Coop Xtra, and then Ormestad skole at Rema 1000. Parents and siblings are welcomed to join us during this part of the parade! PY1 will walk with us or meet us in town
- at 10 am the 17th of May ceremony begins in Badeparken. Hipp hipp hurra!
- at 10:20, Skagerak PY1 to DP2 students and staff will march through town, returning to Badeparken by 11:30. As always, we do ask that Primary and Middle school students inform their homeroom teacher before leaving the festivities.
Things to remember
- students meeting in town should notify their homeroom teachers beforehand
- be sure your child has comfortable shoes for standing and marching
- if rain is forecasted, no umbrellas please - rain jacket or poncho is best
- When you collect your child, be sure to inform the class teacher in person. Please collect them from Badeparken, not along the parade route
- Students should leave gum, candy, noise makers, silly spray, etc at home
Enjoy the day! Gratulerer med dagen!
