Creativity, Activity, Service(CAS)

At Skagerak International School we prepare you for studies or work anywhere in the world. We help you set your ambitions – and reach them.

Creativity, Activity, Service

CAS is an integral part of the IB diploma and all students actively participate. CAS experiences are often initiated and led by students themselves and are a wonderful way for our students to learn outside of the classroom.

At Skagerak we are proud to offer over 50 different activities. These range from Creative experiences such as the Yearbook, School Newspaper, Music Club and Art Club to more Active groups such as the School Football and Volleyball teams to Yoga and Dance.

Service is a vital component as is Global Awareness and we run an excellent Model United Nations Programme, work with the Red Cross and fund raise for an extensive range of local and international charities. In addition we run educational CAS trips each year and we have recently traveled to Nepal, Romania and Kenya to carry out humanitarian work as part of the programme.

A key part of CAS is the creation of an online portfolio where all students regularly reflect and chart their CAS journey. This forms the basis of the final assessment and a pass in CAS is required to obtain the IB Diploma.

The CAS programme allows students to develop and reflect on the following 7 key areas:

  • Identify areas for growth
  • New skills
  • Initiative
  • Perseverance
  • Collaboration
  • Global Issues
  • Ethical implications

We are very proud of our CAS programme and if you are keen to learn more or get involved please do not hesitate to contact the CAS Coordinator who would be delighted to hear from you. You can also view our current CAS guide for more detailed information.
