Skagerak International School is a non-profit foundation and seeks to keep the level of fees as low as financially viable. The school is approved by the Independent Schools Act (Friskolelova) of Norway and is subject to its rules and regulations. The Ministry of Education and Research (Kunnskapsdepartementet) sets a maximum level for school fees. The executive agency for the Ministry is the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training (Utdanningsdirektoratet). Private school fees are subject to any changes or conditions that are determined by the Ministry.

The school is approved by Lånekassen and students can apply for borteboerstipend if they meet the requirements. The students can also apply for a loan to help with school fees. Further information is available below
