Skagerak International School is a non-profit foundation and seeks to keep the level of fees as low as financially viable. The school is approved by the Independent Schools Act (Friskolelova) of Norway and is subject to its rules and regulations.The Ministry of Education and Research (Kunnskapsdepartementet) sets a maximum level for school fees. The executive agency for the Ministry is the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training (Utdanningsdirektoratet). Private school fees are subject to any changes or conditions that are determined by the Ministry.
Skagerak International School has aligned any fee adjustment with the routines of Utdanningsdirektoratet. Tuition fees are calculated in connection with the state budget and school subsidy negotiations in October/November, and the regulated fee for the calendar year comes into effect from 1 January.
